Ontario Creates’ new IP (Intellectual Property) Fund will launch in January 2025 and the industry is encouraged to sign up now for information sessions to learn more.

The IP Fund is intended to drive economic growth in Ontario’s screen sectors by investing in activities that support the production and exploitation of innovative, high-quality, consumer-focused content. The IP Fund will combine the current Film Fund and Interactive Digital Media (IDM) Fund into a single, integrated program that supports screen-based content creation by Ontario companies.

What you need to know:

• The IP Fund includes two program streams: Linear, for feature film and digital series; and, Interactive, for video games and XR content. Each program stream will support production and development/pre-production activities.
• The IP Fund Program Guidelines and application details will be available in late January 2025, with information sessions to follow in February. We encourage screen content companies and producers to attend an information session to learn more: please sign up below.
• The IP Fund will run in two cycles over the 2025-26 fiscal year, with application deadlines in mid-April and late-September.
• The IP Fund includes an expanded Futures Forward program for emerging and equity-deserving content creators. The Futures Forward program stream will launch in Spring 2025.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to attend an online Ontario Creates IP Fund Information Session. There will be separate sessions for the Linear Content Stream and the Interactive Content Stream. Please complete the online registration form for the stream that applies to you by 5:00 pm ET on the day prior to the Information Session.
