RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS
Ontario Creates supports Ontario book publishers with a variety of programs and services including the Book Fund and Global Market Development Fund; strategic cross-sector initiatives such as From Page to Screen; and targeted support for industry development through trade organizations and domestic marketing events. Ontario Creates also administers the annual Trillium Book Award/Prix Trillium, Ontario's prize for literary excellence.

Tax Credit
The Ontario Book Publishing Tax Credit (OBPTC) is a refundable tax credit, based upon eligible Ontario pre-press, printing and marketing expenditures incurred by a qualifying corporation with respect to eligible book publishing activities, as well as expenses incurred after March 26, 2009 related to publishing an electronic or digital version of an eligible literary work.
Funding
Ontario Creates provides funding for the book publishing industry via the Ontario Creates Book Fund and through the Global Market Development Fund.
Trillium Book Award
The Trillium Book Award established by the Ontario government in 1987 recognizes excellence, supports marketing and fosters increased public awareness of the quality and diversity of Ontario writers and writing.
Business Initiatives
Ontario Creates helps Ontario publishers find partners through a variety of initiatives including the annual IP Market Day (formerly From Page To Screen) aimed at promoting the large, small and even mobile screen adaptation of Ontario’s fiction, non-fiction and children’s literature.
Research and Industry Information
Ontario Creates participates in research that supports the development and growth of the cultural media industries. As well as commissioning our own research, we provide research project funding to industry trade organizations and other stakeholders. Ontario Creates also publishes profiles of the book publishing industry and the other creative industries.
