Trillium Book Award Submission Form

Please send two (2) copies of the submitted title with a completed copy of this form to Ontario Creates at 175 Bloor Street East, South Tower, Suite 501, Toronto, ON M4W 3R8.

The Trillium Book Awards honour books published in the preceding calendar year. The deadline for submission will be January 31st for that year’s awards. Publishers are encouraged to submit books as soon as possible.

Note: This submission will not be considered complete until two copies of the published book have been received by Ontario Creates at the designated address. Incomplete submissions will not be considered for the Trillium Book Awards. Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered for the Trillium Book Awards.

* Only a first, second or third work of poetry is eligible for this award. Collections by established poets with four or more poetry collections should be submitted to the Trillium Book Award.

** Le prix de poésie Trillium en langue française est décerné tous les 2 ans. Seuls les premiers, seconds ou troisièmes ouvrages de poésie d’un nouvel auteur seront acceptés. Les œuvres de poètes déjà reconnus peuvent être proposées pour le Prix littéraire Trillium traditionnel.

*** Le prix du livre d’enfant Trillium en langue française est décerné tous les 2 ans.

Author Information

Publisher Obligations

If an author is a finalist for a Trillium Book Award, the publisher will agree to:

  • Supply Ontario Creates with 20 additional copies of the shortlisted book for publicity purposes.
  • Participate in promotion and publicity efforts undertaken by Ontario Creates/Trillium Book Awards. 
  • Communicate to shortlisted author(s) the importance of participating in Trillium Book Award promotions and events. 
  • Make every effort to facilitate shortlisted authors’ availability for promotional videos/photo-shoots.
  • Ensure shortlisted author(s) is/are able to participate in any live Trillium Award events. (usually mid-June, but subject to change.)

  • I have carefully read the guidelines.
  • This submission meets the eligibility criteria and I accept the conditions of the award.
  • The information contained in this form is complete and accurate.
  • I am aware that books submitted to the Trillium Book Awards will not be returned. Ontario Creates may donate books to an organization or initiative of its choosing.
