If We Build It, Will They Come? Digital Books in the Educational Landscape

This report provides market intelligence on use of and needs relating to digital books in the Ontario elementary level school system. Based on a survey of Ontario first and second grade teachers and elementary school librarians, discussions with key stakeholders and a literature review, the study offers recommendations to the digital book creation industry including advice on which interactive features are valued add-ons in children’s ebooks, and marketing and distribution approaches to maximize access the elementary education market.
